Our center is a non-profit program established by the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in 1985 to fill a need for affordable quality child care for children of working parents. The center is a community outreach program and no religious viewpoint is promoted by the center. In addition, our Center accepts County Vouchers through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Child Care Assistance program which covers part of the tuition, based upon income, for working parents. Profile of our CenterWest Shore serves approximately 80 families from Rocky River, Cleveland and surrounding suburbs in Ohio. Our hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, year round. We provide only full-time care for infants 6 weeks old in our Nursery through 4 and 5-year-olds in our Preschool room. Our After School program provides part-time care for children in kindergarten through the 5th grade during the school year, and full time care in our Summer Camp, June through August for graduated K-4th graders. Our Center is licensed by The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
West Shore invites parents of enrolled children to visit at any time. Families interested in West Shore may tour the Center during our hours of operation, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, at their convenience. No appointment is necessary but it helps to insure that someone will be able to escort you on a tour of our facility. We recommend that visitors avoid rest time and come before noon or after 2:30 p.m. so that they can see children and teachers interacting with one another. Visitors before 9 a.m. should call a day or so in advance so that administrative staff can plan to meet with them. Our MissionThe mission of the
